Hunting Horizons believes in and is intent on promoting responsible and regulated hunting, shooting and fishing as a beneficial and responsible use of wildlife resources; these resources belong to our world and its environment and should be managed in a manner which ensures that they are sustained forever. We believe that responsible and ethical actions are the absolute duty of all who use the outdoors; hunters, shooters and fishermen must understand their contribution to the maintenance of healthy, productive and balanced species populations and their environment.

Since wildlife is a renewable natural resource, often with a surplus, all hunters help control wildlife populations at a healthy balance for the environment through Regulated Hunting. Hunting is an effective wildlife management tool and hunters play an important role in providing the information required by wildlife managers to support their valuable efforts for future generations.

It is the responsibility of all hunters, shooters and fishermen to protect the natural environment for future generations to enjoy through biologically sound management of our wildlife and other natural resources and in the respectful use and enjoyment of the land.

Wildlife populations have in the past dwindled from overhunting and habitat loss; hunters, shooters and fishermen have and are contributing to wildlife conservation and have assumed responsibility for managing our wild country, they have encouraged greater Hunting Regulation and established conservation groups to protect, restore and enhance wildlife habitat for both game and non-game wildlife species.

Funding from Hunting Licenses has helped and continues to help finance programmes which are intended to ensure that game and non-game species numbers recover where there are dwindling or endangered populations. We believe that Hunting License Fees and special taxes can and should contribute to conservation groups and their conservation efforts, habitat enhancement, managed use of our wildlife and other natural resources and land protection projects thus assuring a healthy, balanced environment and therefore quality hunting opportunities for future generations.
